AVID Ratings Asks Clients and Associates to Help Them Donate to Various Charities for 2007 Holiday
Season Madison, WI - Released January 10th, 2008
For many years, AVID Ratings has sent cards to its clients and associates during the holiday season.
This year, we decided to honor the spirit of the season in a different way – by donating the funds
we would have spent on cards and postage to various charitable organizations.
AVID Ratings is happy to report that over $2500 will be divided among the charities below in the name
of our clients and associates.
Judi's House
Since opening its doors in 2002, Judi's House has helped more than 2,000 children grieve for the loss
of a loved one. In addition to the direct grief support, Judi's House provides training and insight
about the grieving process to schools and organizations. As well, in collaboration with Outward Bound,
Judi's House will offer a seven day outdoor grief adventure course in the summer of 2008 for youth from
all over the country who have experienced the loss of a parent, sibling or other loved one. (www.judishouse.org)
OneHug Children's Foundation Inc.
OneHug Children's Foundation Inc. is a nonprofit organization which provides charitable contributions
to families with children and selected organizations that serve children in need. In January 2006, Paul
and Hali Cardis established this nonprofit organization in Madison, WI. Their mission is to make it
easier for individuals and companies to make important contributions to qualified charitable organizations
serving children in local markets throughout the U.S. and Canada. OneHug provides direct services and
contributions to selected individuals in need, researches other local charities and serves as a valuable
resource to others looking to support local children's charities, and funds constituent surveys and
background research of unique local agencies in cities throughout North America.
United Way
United Way is a national network of more than 1,300 locally governed organizations that work to create
lasting positive changes in communities and people's lives. Common focus areas of individual United
Way chapters include helping children and youth succeed, improving access to health care, promoting
self-sufficiency, and strengthening families. (www.unitedway.org)
Results were determined by the survey responses of those in the AVID Ratings contact database. Each
individual was given the opportunity to place a single vote for the charity of their choice, therefore
allocating their share of the total charitable contributions. With over 240 participants, the final
results have been confirmed and the following percentages of the total funds will be allocated between
the charities: Judi’s House (40%), OneHug Children’s Foundation (39%), and United Way (21%).
